July/24 Highlights; Migration to Kubernetes, Redis Upgrades, Grafana Dashboard Improvements & More

August 21, 2024

In July, Das Meta successfully completed 136 cloud infrastructure management tasks for our clients across the world. These tasks covered resource management, Kubernetes Migration, monitoring improvements, backup and recovery improvements, incident management aspects and more.
Our team provided proactive solutions for our clients, helping them optimize their infrastructure for business growth.
Let's dive deeper in the aspects covered in July.
Aspect 1: Infrastructure Setup & Optimization
Redis and Core Upgrades
We upgraded Redis from version 6 to 7.1 for one of the clients, and performed a Redis Elasticache upgrade to 7.0, significantly improving cache performance and security.
Resource Management
We optimized resource allocation for key services, including setting up horizontal pod autoscalers (HPA) and adjusting resource limits on critical components like a recommendation engine for another client.

Aspect 2: Monitoring and Visibility
Grafana Dashboard Improvements
We added new metrics and refined existing dashboards in Grafana, allowing for more granular monitoring of services.
Alerting & Notifications
We implemented OpsGenie and Slack notifications for better incident response and introduced new alarms on critical databases to proactively address potential issues.
Aspect 3: Security & Compliance
Backup & Recovery Enhancements
We activated CloudTrail audit logs and ensured regular backups for EC2 instances, strengthening our clients' data integrity and recovery capabilities.
Access Controls
Our team updated security configurations and managed access removals, ensuring tighter control over infrastructure environments for another client.
Aspect 4: Support & Ongoing Maintenance
Support in Deployments
We resolved some deployment issues and provided continuous support for services, ensuring stable operations across environments.
Incident Response
For another client we addressed incidents related to service availability, including database access and service failures, providing minimal downtime and quick recovery. This was for July. I summed up all the hard work in a few sentences but if you want to get more details do not hesitate to book a call right away.
Let's build and manage solid cloud infrastructures together!
